The Student Support Services Program provides grants for projects designed to increase the retention and graduation rates of eligible students; and foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of low-income and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities…—(Federal Register, July 24, 1996).
Luther College has been proud to host the SSS federally funded program since 1973. The Luther SSS Project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education under the Title IV Higher Education Act of 1965 and is defined by the regulations that govern all TRIO Programs. It is conducted through the Office of the Academic Dean and housed in the Student Academic Support Center (SASC) in the lower level of Preus Library.
